Kate Schnittman is a Certified Fund Raising Executive dedicated to helping startup and mid-sized nonprofits achieve their strategic, operational and fundraising goals. Kate is proud of her history of creating valuable collaborations between nonprofit organizations, philanthropic individuals and the business community in order to achieve common objectives. She is experienced with grant planning & writing; development communications; event planning; annual giving programs; donor cultivation and stewardship planning; strategic planning; and project and program management.

Kate emerged as a nonprofit executive in 2010 when she left her twelve-year career as a human resources consultant to found The Kolbe Fund – a nonprofit with a mission to support families who must travel to obtain pediatric medical care. Today Kolbe is proud to have provided relief to thousands of financially and emotionally strapped families struggling to care for their sick child. Hopeful Nights, The Kolbe Fund’s signature project, proudly operates as a sustained program of the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund. In 2016, in recognition for her service to families in the Philadelphia region, Kate was the recipient of the Power Woman Award from the Main Line Times, she was designated as a Philadelphia Woman on the Move, was the BenFM Woman of the Week, and received the Main Line Parent Community Builder Award.

Kate has a productive history of volunteerism. She is the former President of MOMS Club International Drexel Hill. She is proud of her service with Peace Corps Kazakhstan. She has chaired numerous fundraisers and galas, and has enjoyed volunteering for nonprofits such as Mother’s Home, Home of the Sparrow, and Team CMMD Cycling Club. Kate has served on numerous boards including the Charles & Mary Crossed Foundation, House of Mercy and the Susan B Anthony Birthplace. She is an active member of 100 Women Who Care ROC.

 

Passionate about education, Kate is a certified Math teacher who has taught middle school, high school and college. She’s served on the School Improvement and the Headmaster Search Committees for Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok and was a valued member of the Advancement Committee for Ss Philip and James School in Philadelphia. As an athlete, Kate has enjoyed coaching cross country and swimming.

In 1998, Kate graduated from The College of Wooster with a major in Economics. She received her degree in Mathematics and Education from Nazareth College in 2003. In 2019, Kate met all requirements to obtain her Certified Fund Raising Executive status.
